No means no!

What do you do with a daughter that doesn't know the meaning of the word no. You tell her no once. She asks the question again. You so no twice. She asks the questions a second time. You tell her no a third time . She matches you again. I think this goes on for at least 8 times. I ask her "when does no mean no"? I'm still waiting for her answer. Daughter where are you? Daughter I am waiting on your answer? Daughter do you think you can answer my question? Daughter why are keeping me waiting?

Mother's Day Gift?

This is Mother. I have a question. What would you consider a good Mother's Day Present? 8 years ago I was given a quite unusual Mother's Day Gift. The thoughts of it today still make me question their effort it gift giving. 8 years ago on Mother's Day my daughter came running into the house saying Mom you have to come outside to see your gift. Dad and I picked them up for you today. I'm thinking them what the hell? I had just gotten out of the shower and I was in my robe and towel on my head. I walked outside with my daughter (who was as proud as can be). To be honest I was a little scared and curious about this gift. As we rounded the driveway I could see my husband had a dog carrier. At this point I thought he may have gotten us another dog (another story for another day) I was not happy with this for you have to understand we already have a matching set of cocker spaniels that are the dumbest things going. I started to yell that they had better not have brought home another dog. We don't spend enough time with the ones we have. This is when my husband interrupted and my daughter said just take a look. My daughter goes on to explain how you always said you wanted more kids so we got you two kids. In the crate were two Nubian baby goats. I got baby goats for mother's day. You have to understand that baby goats are called kids and with all the complaining about having more kids they just tweaked the idea a little. I guess the figured that this would finally shut me up on the topic. And to make a long story short I now have 7 full adult goats that will live with us for maybe another 10 years. They will live their adulthood with us. We got them as kids and they will stay with us through adulthood. Boy did I ever get the short end of the stick. Our own daughter won't even stay through adulthood (I hope) Of course when they were babies and new my daughter was like I will help take care of them and raise them. Well here we are 8 years later and I have all I can do to get her off her cell phone or Ipod just to feed and water them. Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it. Daughter will be giving her opinion of this Mother's Day Present. I hope her explanation is better this time then it was 8 years ago.
